The LEED certified building is located across from Lake Gregory and will be a welcome addition to this picturesque mountain community.

Friends of the library, young and old, enthusiastically signed with their black markers and Crestline/Lake Gregory Chamber of Commerce President Bob Yeomans stated “I am thrilled and happy to be here.”

Supervisor Biane presented a check for $15,000 to Bill Steiner the Friends of the Library President as part of a $50,000 pledge that the Friends must raise in matching funds. “This was wonderful, a great project, and we’re one more step toward being open,” stated Supervisor Biane.

The library is scheduled for completion in March of 2010 and residents are busy holding fundraisers and planning the sale of obsolete books to make way for new ones. “Building a library is part of building a better community for everyone,” commented Gamut Construction President, Mark Scarlatelli. “It’s gratifying to know that this community is so passionate about this project.”

Press Release: September 2009
GAMUT BUILDS UPLAND FIRE STATION

Upland’s newest fire station at 19th Street and Campus located in the Colonies Crossroads retail center is set to open. Gamut Construction is close to completion on the state-of-the-art facility which is Upland’s 5th fire station. Fire Chief Michael Antonucci said there are two things he is specifically looking forward to in the new building. “Moving the station up to where our response time will be better in the area,” he said. “And getting the crews into better living spaces.” Gamut was selected to construct the station by Upland City officials because of their reputation in the public works field for completing projects on time and on budget. “Building fire stations requires very specialized skills and we are pleased to have been selected for this high profile project,” noted Mark Scarlatelli, President of the Gamut Companies.

Gamut has successfully completed fire stations in the cities of Hemet, Orange and Norco and was recently awarded the contract to build a new fire station in San Clemente. The Company was also chosen by San Bernardino County to renovate the Crestline Public library which is one of the first LEED projects awarded by the county. “The LEED project falls right in line with our eco-friendly practices which we carry out throughout our organization,” continued Scarlatelli. “We balance the high-tech aspects with our concerns for the environment.”

GAMUT TO BUILD NEW FIRE STATION & SENIOR CENTER IN SAN CLEMENTE, CA

Some big changes are coming to downtown San Clemente – a new fire station/senior center and an expansion of the San Clemente Library. Dignitaries and senior citizens gathered this afternoon at 121 Avenida Victoria for a ceremonial groundbreaking for the 8,000-square-foot Dorothy Visser Senior Center. It could open in the next 15 months, sharing a building with a new fire station that will replace a 47-year-old station at City Hall.

“Gamut Construction is proud and honored to have been chosen to build this beautiful new senior center that will mean so much to San Clemente’s senior population. Nearly 8% of households in San Clemente have at least one person over the age of 65 so the need is apparent and thanks to the generous support of the community as well as the agencies involved, it will become a reality over the next year or so. We feel fortunate to have been chosen from some very stiff competition and you can rest assured that Gamut will deliver a stunning project that this City will be proud of for years to come,” noted Gamut President Mark Scarlatelli.

San Clemente has long desired a fire station west of I-5.The new senior center will replace a 4,500-square-foot center that has operated since 1982 at 242 Avenida Del Mar, occupying one end of the landmark San Clemente LIbrary building. The new sen- ior center, officials said, will offer expanded activities, a computer/technology lab, the Mary and Gary West Foundation Wellness Center, daily lunch programs and a Meals on Wheels outreach.

In addition to building senior centers Gamut is also well known for our fire stations which require special construction expertise. The City’s new fire station will be housed right next door so when you hear the sirens it will not mean that lunch is being served in the center.

As a a coastal resort, residents want to preserve the pristine nature of San Clemente and limit the impact on the environment. Gamut is already working on LEED certified projects and we employ sustainability practices whenever possible in every facet of our construction activities.

“My thanks to the Mayor, City Council, and the building Department for placing your trust in Gamut. We are excited and ready to get started on a project that will deliver on two fronts. A much needed social center and gathering place for seniors and a strategi- cally located fire station to add to public safety in this beautiful town,” conclued Scarlatelli.

The San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors agreed to incorporate Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Silver standards in the building design for the Crestline Library.

Press Release: June 2009
GAMUT SELECTED TO BUILD SB COUNTY LEED PROJECT

The San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors agreed to incorporate Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Silver standards in the building design for the Crestline Library.
“The Board is committed to delivering County facilities that adhere to rigorous green building standards so we can conserve resources such as energy and water and lessen our impacts on the environment,” said Board of Supervisors Chairman Paul Biane, who represents the Crestline communities as the Second District Supervisor.

Gamut Construction was selected for the project because of its eco-friendly practices and its reputation for on-time/on-budget quality work.

“Its an honor to be selected for such a prestigious LEED project,” stated Mark Scarlatelli, Gamut’s President. “It affirms our commitment to protecting the environment and using innovative construction techniques to adhere to the high standards established by LEED.”

The U.S. Green Building Council – a nonprofit consortium of builders, corporations, government agencies and others – developed LEED standards to provide guidelines for “green” building practices worldwide.

During the launch of “Green County San Bernardino” in last year the Board of Supervisors agreed to incorporate LEED Silver standards in all new County buildings and in major renovation projects. “

GAMUT COMPLETES YUCAIPA FIRE STATION

Gamut Construction has just completed Yucaipa’s new fire station. “The City of Yucaipa and its staff have been a great partner in this exciting project. The creativity and innovation of WLC Architects and the diligence of Neff Construction were invaluable in bringing this project to its successful completion. Projects like these are always a challenge and it has truly been a team effort meeting budgets and tight schedules. We look forward to working with the same team in the near future,” Mark Scarlatelli announced in a prepared statement for the dedication ceremonies.

Gamut is a fast rising star in the regional construction industry with its successful completion of many public works projects. The company has constructed award winning fire stations in the City of Orange, Hemet and Norco in Riverside County, and Upland’s first new fire station in over 30 years. Fire stations require specialized knowledge and experience to meet the stringent construction standards of these critical emergency facilities.

“Local cities feel comfortable with us because we not only provide accurate, competitive bids but we also have the resources and expertise to back them up. Our industry is very competitive but at the end of the day our last completed project is our calling card,” according to Mr. Scarlatelli.

“From fire stations and libraries to railroad depots and resorts we want to be at the top of every city’s bid list. The Yucaipa fire station is another example of an on time, on budget success story.”

Gamut works across all sectors within the Southern California market on projects ranging from $5 million to $15 million. As a multi-disciplinary general contractor it specializes in public works, private commercial projects, and tenant improvements. Gamut’s impressive in-house resources make it one of the most respected construction compa- nies in the region with a reputation for on-time, on-budget projects.
